100 jaar geleden 100 years ago

Net las ik in de krant dat het 100 jaar geleden is dat Amundsen als eerste de Zuidpool bereikte. Een maand voor Scott. Van een groepsfoto van Scott maakte ik in 2007 inchies, een mooie gelegenheid om die weer eens op te diepen :) Jammer dat de scan niet groter is, toen wist ik echt niet veel van digitaal werk...
Today i read in the paper it is 100 years ago today Amundsen reached the South Pole. A month before Scott. I used a groups photo from Scott's to make inchies back in 2007. Today is a good day to review these :)
A pity the scan is only this small size, I didn't know much about digital photos and images in those days...

Een paar weken terug zag ik eindelijk de laatste Harry Potter film en vanavond zag ik er weer een op tv. Ooit maakte ik een 'gothic arch' met een HP-thema en bedacht dat ik dat ouwetje wel even op kon diepen. 'k Vind 'm nog steeds leuk :)
A few weeks back I finally went to the latest (and last) Harry Potter movie and tonight I saw a HP-movie on tv. Years back I made a HP-themed 'gothic arch' and thought I could dig up that oldie. I had a giggle seeing it back :)

5 jaar5 years

5 jaar geleden (hier: klik) begonnen met bloggen en er is me verteld dat dat gevierd mag worden :) dat gaat ook gebeuren, later (ik zie wel een verloting in april in het verschiet)
Wist ik veel wat dit allemaal teweeg zou gaan brengen. Nieuwe vrienden ontmoeten (virtueel en in het echt), projecten die ik mezelf oplegde (anders komt er nooit wat af), nieuwe dingen die ik leerde (verandering van spijs...).
En dan al die aardige, lieve, leuke reacties (dat is toch wel een grote drijfveer om te blijven bloggen). Kortom allemaal top!


it's 5 years since I started blogging (here: click) and I'm told it should be celebrated :) which will happen, later (I can see a prize drawing in the near future i.e in april)
Little did I know how this adventure would evolve. Meeting new friends (virtually and in real), projects I commited myself too (a way for me to finish things), new things I learned (variety is the spice of life).
And not to forget all the sweet, kind and fun comments (a real incentive to keep blogging). All so great!

Op 21 maart 2006 plaatste ik dat eerste berichtje, half april ging ik echt verder met bloggen. Dus in april kom ik terug met wat leuks, hou 't in de gaten :D
March 21, 2006 I posted my first post, half April I really started blogging. So in april I will be back with something fun, stay tuned :D

one world one heart 2011

Het vijfde en laatste jaar van dit wereldwijde blogevenement en voor mij de eerste keer dat ik mee doe... Omdat mijn hart helemaal bij het boekbinden ligt geef ik een van mijn boeken weg die ik maakte in m'n '50 boeken' serie. Sommige daarvan zal ik nooit wegdoen, gewoon omdat ze niet goed genoeg gemaakt zijn. En met sommige wegdoen heb ik moeite omdat ik er op een of andere manier aan gehecht ben geraakt. Door de binding die ik voor het eerst maakte, door een bijzonder materiaal dat ik gebruikte, doordat het boek lekker aanvoelt. Dit boek heeft dat allemaal en het ligt in een doos te smeken om daglicht, dan is OWOH toch de ultieme gelegenheid om het een goed huis te geven ☺ 
The fifth and final year of this worldwide blog event and finally I'm in... My heart is totally in bookbinding so the only thing that's right to give away is one of my books. It's a book made in my '50 books' series. Some of these I will never give away just because they aren't properly made. And with some I have a hard time giving up, because i'm attached to them one way or another. It could be a first time binding working out all right, it could be a special material used, it could be the feel of it. This book has all three and it's laying in a box begging for daylight, the OWOH event is the perfect opportunity to give it a good home ☺

Het is een langsteekbinding ('n rijgsteek in dit geval), 12 bladen, 24 bladzijdes zwaar aquarelpapier. De band is bekleed met oranje/rood 'elefantenhaut'papier en rinde. Genaaid met dun touw. Afmeting van het gesloten boek is ong. 15x10 cm.
It's a longstitch binding (a running stitch in this case), 12 sheets (24 pages counting each side) heavy watercolor paper. Covered with orangy/red 'elefantenhaut' paper and rinde. Sewn with thin twine. The closed book measures appr. 6x4".

Ik vind het heel bijzonder om toch nog mee te kunnen doen aan dit evenement. Lisa dank je wel voor al je werk hieraan, het is fantastisch om de blogwereld op deze manier samen te brengen ♡
