Two 2Stars

Hier zijn ze dan, de oogst van afgelopen weekend. Zaterdag was relaxed, lezing van een uurtje en een pakketje mee naar huis. Zondag was flink werken om twee volledige '2star' bindingen te maken.
Here's the result of the bookbinding weekend. Saturday was easy going, only the lecture and demo and the DIY kit to make at home. Sunday was quite different, it was all hands on to complete the two '2star' bindings.

Thuis heb ik de omslagen van een paar stempelafdrukken voorzien.
At home I added some stamped images to the covers.

We leerden ook nog een slimme sluiting snijden.
We also learned to cut a fun closure.

De boeken zijn op allerlei manieren weg te zetten (neem ook een kijkje bij het bericht van gisteren)

De lezing en les werden gegeven door Cristina Balbiano d'Aramengo (hier en hier coming soon). De omslagen zijn van Zaans bord. De stempels die ik gebruikte zijn van Clubscrap.

Voor het buiten te donker werd kon ik nog net één foto maken van de boeken die ik afgelopen weekend maakte. Morgen hoop ik op een beetje meer tijd daarvoor.

Het was een fantastisch boekbindweekend. Zaterdag de lezing en demo, zondag de workshop. Hieronder zie je Cristina voordoen hoe een prikmal te maken. Haar website is nog niet af, hier is een link met meer info: 'Professione Libro' (Engels en Italiaans).
Niet veel foto's kunnen maken tijdens de les, het schijnt dat je batterijen af en toe moet opladen...

concertina

Vandaag een lezing en demo over 'uitdagende concertinas' door Cristina Balbiano d'Aramengo in Utrecht. We kregen allemaal een pakketje mee om thuis een eenkatern-versie te kunnen maken.
Today a reading and demo on 'challenging concertinas' by Cristina Balbiano d'Aramengo in Utrecht. We all got a 'Lamellae binding kit' to make one with one section at home.

Thuis moest dat natuurlijk onmiddelijk uitgevoerd (anders vergeet je maar hoe het moet, niet?)
At home I had to start immediate (otherwise one would forget the ins and outs, not?)

op m'n werktafel 11 on my worktable 11

Vorige week naaide ik een boekblok, omdat ik op boekbindles ging. Het werden twee leuke dagen hard werken om het boek in model en goed gebonden te krijgen. De bekleding worden we geacht er thuis omheen te maken, dat gaat nog een paar zweetdruppels kosten...
Last week I sewed a textblock for a bookbinding class I would attent. It turned out two fun days of hard working to model and bind the book. The cover we are supposed to finish at home. I can see some head scratching over unexpected issues in the near future...
