Vorige week liet ik de atc zien die ik met Evelyn ruilde. Van haar kreeg ik een hele fraaie atc terug, verpakt in een mooie envelop, samen met een door haar ontworpen illustratie, supermooi allemaal! (klik op een van de foto's om het blog van Evelyn en haar zus te bezoeken)

zeeboontjes sea urchins

schelpen en zeeboontjes: 0,5 (en kleiner) tot 2,5 cm
shells and sea urchins: from  0.2" (and smaller) to 1"

zeeboontjes, er liggen er duizenden op het strand bij de zandmotor, een paar dozijn belandde in mijn zak en drie daarvan op deze atc
sea urchins, they look a bit like tiny sand dollars, there are thousands on the beach, a few dozen ended up in my pocket and three of those on this atc

nu hopen dat ze het reisje per post ongeschonden zullen doorstaan
here's hoping they will travel by post unharmed

Weer eens een verse atc gemaakt, alleen maar omdat het mapje met ouwetjes spoorloos is en ik 'een zeker iemand' een atc-ruil beloofde... Ik heb wel andere dingen teruggevonden, o.a. de kaartenhouder, te gebruiken met foto's te maken (foto 2), een paar kartonnen 'zoekers' in verschillende formaten, lang geleden gemaakt en een doosje hele kleine schelpjes (foto 1).
Made a fresh atc, only because the binder containing the oldies is hiding somewhere and I promised 'a certain someone' to exchange an atc... I did find other things back though, including the card holder to use when making photos (pic 2), some cardboard view finders in various sizes I made long ago and a small box tiny shells (pic 1).

tmta: insectentmta: insects

Insecten op TMTA. Ik weet 't, het is al lang geen maandag meer, maar insecten kruipen en vliegen de hele week, dus hier is de mijn atc :)
Insects at TMTA. I know monday is days ago, though insects crawl and fly all week, so here's my atc :)

Nogal rechttoe rechtaan. Gestempeld met acrylverf op zwart kaartkarton. Paar stukjes washi tape, deze week een paar rolletjes aangeschaft, leuk transparant spul is dat.

Pretty straight forward. Stamped with acrylic paint on black cardstock. A few pieces of washi tap, new in my stash, it's really fun transparant tape.

Het is eeuwen geleden dat ik nog een atc maakte, het thema 'huizen' bij TMTA en wat restjes papier op tafel waren vandaag genoeg om me op gang te helpen.
It's been ages since i made an atc, TMTA's theme for this week 'houses' and some scraps laying around were enough today to get me started.

Ik heb de gesso over een geverfde achtergrond geveegd. Het gestempelde op de voorgrond is met zwart poeder geëmbost. De plaatjes weer uit een oud biebboek geknipt.

Edited: i've always associated this song with the long journey around the Cape (south-Africa)... today I've learned it's all about pirates. Never paid enough attention to the text I guess... Kaap'ren (cape) and kaper (pirate) just sounds the same to me. Learn something everyday ;P

Stijfselpapier / Paste papers

Het is een aantal jaren geleden dat ik stijfselmarmers heb gemaakt. Afgelopen week ben ik een beetje aan het oefenen geweest. Hoe dik moest de pap ook alweer zijn, hoeveel verf gaat erdoor, welk papier werkt lekker...
It's been a few years since I made paste papers. Last week i've been practicing. How thick (engl. ?) should the paste be, how much paint to mix in the paste, what paper works best...






Ik ben er nog niet helemaal uit, maar deze zijn wel leuk geworden. Er zit wat turquoise in, mooi voor een atc bij TMTA.
I'm not satisfied yet, but I like these test papers. There's some turquoise in it, nice to use on a TMTA atc for this week.

De stijfselkleuring is op een spinnewebpapier gedaan, niet de makkelijkste keus om op te kwasten, maar wel een leuk effect.
The paste is put on a kind of structured 'vellum' (the kind you find in photo-albums, how is that thin paper called?????). Not the easiest choice to paste on, but is gives a nice effect.

TMTA: Stone/Steen

Telt gebakken klei als steen? Dan is dit mijn bijdrage voor TMTA deze week :)
Does baked clay count as stone? If so, this is my entry for TMTA this week :)

Weer eens een biebboek uit elkaar getrokken, "De Verboden Stad". Alle plaatjes en tekst zijn uit hetzelfde boek geknipt. De achtergrond is acrylverf, oliepastel en een strepenstempel uit de huiscollectie.
I'm demolishing an old librarybook, "the Forbidden City". All images and text is trimmed from this book. Background is acrylic paint, oil pastel and a home carved line stamp.



Het beeldje op deze atc is een dakornament.
This statue is a roof ornament. Text says: 'Early in the morning'.

Deze telt niet... De kraanvogel is van brons...
This one doesn't count...The crane is bronze made... Text: 'Since the beginning'.

Deze kon ik niet weerstaan, vooral omdat de zin precies op de atc past *lol*

I couldn't resist this one, especially when I noticed the text fitted perfectly on the atc *lol* It says: 25 sons and 20 daughters.

Collage challenge atc

Dit was nogal een een zware bevalling. Kristy zond een aantal mensen wat plaatjes en andere dingen om een atc mee te maken voor iemand anders. Oef, dat was schrikken toen het thema heel erg zoet bleek te zijn, niet echt mijn ding. De envelop lag maar rond te slingeren en ik er met grote bogen omheen drentelen. Tot mijn oog op de stapel postzegels viel die Lianna me een keer stuurde *licht aan* Postage People!
This was quite a challenge. Kristy sent out collage bits and pieces, to made into an atc for someone else. Oops, that was a surprise when the theme turned out to be very cute, not really my fort. The envelope was laying, waiting there on my desk and being avoided by me. Until my eye catched the postage stamps Lianna sent me once *light on* Postage People!





Een boel glimmermist, stempel van Tuscan Rose en postzegel heb ik toegevoegd. De rest zat in de envelop.
I added a lot of glimmermist, stamped image (Tuscan Rose) and postage stamp. The other items were in the envelope.

2 atc's

Het blijft leuk te zien hoe alcoholinkt mengt en er daarna passende stempels bij te zoeken.
It's always fun to see how alcohol ink merges and to find matching stamps with the colours.

Pijlen bij WS deze week. Ik wilde mijn laatste gummetjes versnijden en pijlen waren nu net afbeeldingen die ik wilde maken, geweldige timing Hermine :)

Gisteren heb ik ook nog een gum met ruiten gesneden, maar die kon ik niet kwijt op deze atc's :)
Yesterday I carved a diamonds stamp, but that one didn't fit on these atc's :)

Ik heb net uitgevonden dat bij Blogger nu ook berichtjes op voorhand gemaakt kunnen worden en dan op een geplande tijd geplaatst. Mijn vorige bericht, van vanochtend 6 uur, was er zo een :) Gisteravond klaargezet en automatisch op het weblog geplaatst vanochtend, ha, dat biedt perspectief, weet alleen nog niet welk *lol*
I just figured out one can schedule posts at Blogger too. My previous post was my try out, made yesterday and scheduled to post 6 am this morning, how cool is that, not sure if I use this feature a lot in future but I like the possibility *lol*

ATC's

De alcoholinkt weer eens uit de kast getrokken.

Witte accenten met een Sharpie paint marker. Alle stempels van Clubscrap, behalve het hartje, dat heb ik zelf gesneden.

De witte tekst en accenten zijn met Sharpie poster paint markers geschreven. Die schrijven echt geweldig op acrylverf en glimmermist. Het rood en oranje/grijs is acrylverf en de gele delen zijn glimermist.
The white text is written with Sharpie poster paint markers. These write really wonderful on acrylic paint and glimmermist. The red and orange/grey is acrylic paint. The yellow part is glimmermist.

Op deze atc's 4 verschillende lente haiku uit het boek dat ik zoveel gebruik om mooie teksten te vinden.
On these atc's 4 different haiku from the book I use so very often to find meaningful text.

Crazy Amigo's: April doet wat hij wil

Vrij thema bij Crazy Amigo's deze week en ik heb besloten mijn handen maar eens te beschilderen.
Free theme at Crazy Amigo's this week, I decided to use my hands as a canvas.

Mooi hè?
Isn't it beautiful?

Maar ja, alleen handen verven is ook zo wat, bovendien zijn ze moeilijk te ruilen, dus de rest van de verf heb ik op atc's gesmeerd.
Well, painted hands do not last and they are hard to trade, so the remains of the paint is smeared on some atc's.

Uit een restje karton heb ik een rechthoek gesneden als malletje. Mijn eigen hartje, de vogels en chinese tekens met Versafine gestempeld, dat is op het moment mijn favoriete inkt om mee op acrylverf te stempelen.
I've cut a rectangle from a scrap cardboard to use as a template. Stamped my heart, the birds and chinese characters with Versafine, this is my favorite ink at the moment to stamp with on acrylic paint.

WS: Purple Art

De atc's zien er een stuk beter uit als je op de foto klikt. De tekst heb ik met een Copic Multiliner geschreven.
These atc's look a lot nicer when you click on the photo. I wrote the text with a Copic Multiliner.

Voor het eerst paars en groen gecombineerd, dat was spannend *lol* De citaten heb ik van de Hampton Art stempel geleend. Verder nog m'n eigen stempels, een beetje glimmermist en een witte gelpen gebruikt.
A first time combining green and purple, that felt exciting *lol* The quotes are borrowed from the Hampton Art art quotes stamp. Besides that I used my own stamps, a spritz glimmermist and a white gelpen.

Atc's

Ik sta nog steeds in de atc-stand. Op deze een boel acrylverf en een nieuwe eigengemaakte stempel.
I'm still in the atc mode. On these a lot af acrylic paint and another self carved stamp.

De foto is niet helemaal scherp, ik probeer morgen een betere te maken.
The photo is a bit blurred, I will try to post a better one tomorrow.

Julie's journal pages class

Vanochtend met Julie's journal-lesjes (scroll naar beneden, ze begon op 26 februari met de lessen) in gedachten wat zitten maken. Geen journaal of dagboek, daar ben ik niet aan toe, maar een setje atc's.
This morning I made something with Julie's journal tutorial (scroll down, she started this tutorial at Februari 26) in mind. I'm not ready to start a journal, so I tried a few atc's.



De woordjes heb ik op het kladpapier gestempeld en uitgeknipt, dan kloppen de kleuren leuk. Mijn werkplek wordt er trouwens ook niet groter op...
The words are stamped on my work surface protection paper (scrap paper?) , it's a nice way to match up colours. My working space becomes smaller and smaller BTW...

Ik heb alles met een laagje glaceermedium, gemengd met een drupje groen, beschilderd. Dat is hier nog nat, vandaar de glans.
I painted a layer glazing medium, mixed with drop green paint, on the surface. It's still wet here, hence the glare.

De strepen en het hartje zijn stempels die ik vorige week zelf heb gegutst.
The stripes and the heart are stamps I carved myself last week.

TMTA: Texture effects

Het thema voor deze week bij TMTA kon ik echt niet links laten liggen...
I just couldn't pass by on this weeks theme at TMTA...

De structuur van de papierkreukels is erg leuk. Ik heb er nog met metallic inkt krullen opgestempeld. Dat is beter te zien als je op de onderste foto klikt.
The texture of the paper wrinkles is nice. I've stamped flourishes with metallic ink. That's better visible when you click on the photo below.
