Alcohol achtergrondjes, plaatjes gescoord bij de vintage pool van Flickr, ieniemienie knoopjes (dank je wel Karin), bruin plakband, stempels, het past allemaal op die superkleine vierkantjes! Niet te geloven hè?

Mijn werktafel is weer zichtbaar na twee avonden ruimen en dat heeft, behalve werkruimte, ook nog het e.e.a. aan UFO's (UnFinished Objects) opgeleverd. Dit alcoholachtergrondje is er een van.

My desktop is visible again after two nights of cleaning. Beside working space I found some UFO's (UnFinished Objects). This alcohol bg is one of them.

Wat is nu 2,54 cm, dat kan er ook nog wel bij... Kortom vanavond ben ik ook overstag gegaan en heb 4 van die mini's gemaakt. Wel een beetje snelle, om er in te komen zullen we maar zeggen :o))

Only 1 inch, I can do that, lots of spare time to work on an inch... You noticed it, I took the plunge into inchies. Tonight I made a couple real quick one, let's say these are just to practice the trick :o))

Voetbedekking / Footwear

Deze week is 'Voetbedekking' het thema van Wednesday Stampers. Hoe graag ik ook ooit eens op hoge hakken zou lopen, het is me nooit gelukt, dus nu toch maar weer in de stevige stappers gestapt...
This weeks' theme at Wednesday Stampers is 'Footwear'. Really, I would love to walk on high heels once, although my average daywaer looks more like the boots on this card...

Spin&Splash achtergrond gemaakt in Hermine's les van een paar weken geleden. Stappers van Papirgleder. Scratches op vellum van Stampers Anonymous. De oranje-achtige rand is in het echt een rood/gouden glitterpapier (van Jen Compen voor de kenners). De paarse laag (lijkt zwart op de scan) is met foamtape op het vellum gezet.
Spin&Splash background made in Hermine's class a few weeks ago. Boots from Papirgleder, stamped in purple on a dictionary page. Scratches from Stampers Anonymous on vellum. The orange looking border is a glittery red/gold IRL. The purple layer (looks black in the scan) is attached with foamtape on the vellum.

Hmmmm, ik bén weegschaal, dus eigenlijk is er nooit wat af... steeds toch weer eens proberen of er toch niet een ditje of datje bij kan. En als het spul dan eindelijk in een envelop zit begin ik weer te twijfelen:"Had ik toch niet iets anders moeten doen....?" *lol*
Well, I am libra, so nothing is ever finished... trying again and again to add a this or that. And when the creations are finally in the mail I start to doubt:"Shouldn't I have done something different...?" *lol*

Hier twee van de gotische bogen die ik afgelopen week maakte, alletwee met wat extras er op.
Here are two of the gothic arches i made last week, both with some extras added.

De bloemetjes op de bruine kaart kregen steeltjes van dunne strookjes restpapier. Het lijken nu net ballonnen.
The flowers on the brown card got stems from some tiny leftover strips of paper. They look a bit like balloons now.

De Happy Girls kregen een randje en wat blaadjes aan de boom. Het randje was 'gepland', de blaadjes waren nodig om een lijmvlek weg te werken. Behalve eeuwig twijfelen ben ik daar ook goed in: knoeien en weer weg werken.
The happy girls did get a border and some leaves on the tree branches. The border was 'planned', the leaves are a covering up from spilling glue. Beside dubbing that's something I'm good at too: messing and covering up.

Gothic Arch Queen

Lekker kliederen en dan ziet zo'n gotische boog er zo uit aan het eind van de avond...
Messing around for an evening makes a gothic arch look like this...

To you with love

Deze gotische boog is met het Valentijn thema van Wednesday stampers in gedachten gemaakt. De achtergrond tekst op het bruine scrapbookpapier is van Stampotique. Het hart van Purple Onion Design, To you with love is van Clubscrap. De stoffen bloemetjes zijn gekleurd met alcohol inkt (Red Pepper, Butterscotch and Terra cotta). Het geheel heb ik met kapitaalband omkaderd. De rare bocht is door de druk van het scannerdeksel gekomen, in het echt zit het band er wel netje tegen aan hoor :oP
This gothic arch is made with Wednesday stampers Valentine theme in mind. Stamped text from Stampotique. on scrapbookpaper. Heart is from Purple Onion Design, To you with love is from Clubscrap. Flowers are fabric and coloured with alcohol inks (Red Pepper, Butterscotch and Terra cotta). Border is made with bookbinding end band. The strange looking curve is due to the pressure of the scanner lid, its a neat border IRL ;oP

Two happy girls

Weer een pagina voor de gotische swap. Gestempelde achergrond tekst, boom, uurwijzers en vogel. De meisjes zijn uit de vintage pool van Flickr en de tekst is op de pc gemaakt. Waarschijnlijk ga ik nog een randje met kapitaalband langs de boog maken, dat staat wat meer afgewerkt. Even zoeken of ik een passend kleurtje in de voorraad heb.
Another page for the gotic swap I'm in. Stamped background text, tree, clock hands and bird. The girls are from the vintage pool at Flickr and the text is computer generated. I'm considering to attach some end band (head band) around it for a more finished look. Have to search first if I have the right colour in stash.

Onze wandeling van vandaag voerde door Kinderdijk, het blijft een mooi gezicht al die windmolens.

Our walking tour today went trough Kinderdijk, I love the the view on the windmills there.

Perpetual gatefold (part 4)

De scan van de kaart bij de werkwijze van een paar dagen geleden vond ik eigenlijk maar niets. Vandaag lukte het om een paar foto's te maken. Het uitvouwen van de kaart is zo beter te zien.

I didn't like the scans of the card I posted with the instructions a few days ago. Today I managed to take some pics of it. The movements are showed more clearly now.

Aanvulling op de werkwijze: Het kaartje maken is simpeler als je de strookjes eerst op elkaar plakt en daarna decoreert. Ik doe dat zelf niet omdat je dan wat lastiger bij sommige randjes kunt komen.
Updated instructions: It's more easy to make the card when you attach the strips to each other first and decorate afterwards. I don't do that because it's harder to reach some parts of the folded card when it is assembled.

Roze Gotische Boog / Pink Gothic Arch

Nog een bijdrage voor Wednesday Stampers thema 'Think Pink" van deze week. Deze gotische boog lag al een paar dagen in zwart/wit en zilver te wachten op iets leutigs. Een beetje roze voldoet wel aan de omschrijving leutig, dacht ik zo.

Another entry for this weeks Wednesday Stampers theme 'Think Pink". This gothic arch was ready in b/w and silver for a few days and needed something juicy to finish it. Some pink on it is juicy enough, I thought.

Achtergrond tekststempel is van Stampotique, woordjes en bloem van Clubstamp.
Background text stamp is from Stampotique, words and flower from Clubstamp.

Perpetual gatefold part 3

Waar was ik gebleven?
De voor en achterkant zijn bestempeld. Voor de duidelijkheid heb ik twee verschillende kleuren gebruikt, voorkant roze, achterkant blauw.
Where was I?
The front and back side are stamped. For clearness (engl?) I've used two colours, front side is pink, back side of the card is blue.

Verder met de binnenkant. Nu volgt er een iets ingewikkelder deel, haal de Post-it los en leg de strookjes met de 'buitenkanten' tegen elkaar aan. Om straks de tekst van de achterkant leesbaar te hebben is het slim om die nu vast om te draaien. Zie foto.
Coninue with the inner part of the card. It's a bit more complicated, but not to hard. Remove the Post-it tape from the strips and place the strips with the 'outer' sides next to each other. To have a readable text on the back of the card when finished you want to turn it in this stage. See picture.

Beide delen omdraaien en weer bestempelen. De delen met de 'X en O' aangegeven op de tekening kun je leeg laten, daar plak je straks de strookjes op elkaar.
Turn both pairs and decorate. The parts marked with 'X and O' can be left empty, these will be used to attach the strips to each other later.

Verwijder de tape van strookjes voor de voorkant van de kaart, hier de roze delen. Leg de buitenkanten weer tegen elkaar (de voorkant zal nu weer een 'gewoon' hart zijn). Laat de blauwe strookjes nog even aan elkaar zitten.
Remove the tape from the front part, pink one in this example. Place the 'outer' side next to each other (the front will be a 'normal' heart again now). Let the blue strips attached to each other for now.

Bevestig dubbelzijdig tape op de lege plaatsen, de stukjes op de tekening gemerkt met 'X' .
Attach double sided tape to the bare spots, the places marked 'X' on the drawing.

Plak nu de strook met de roze 'X-en' op de roze 'O-en' en de grijze 'X-en' op de grijze 'O-en'. Stevig aan drukken en verwijder de Post-it tape van de achterzijde (als je dat al niet gedaan had).
Attach the strip with the pink 'X-es' to the pink 'O's en the grey 'X-es' to the grey 'O's. Press firmly and remove the Post-it tape from the backside of the card (when you didn't do this before).

Hoe open te vouwen?
How to make the perpetual movements?

Begin met het hart, naar buiten open vouwen. Dan wordt blauwe binnenkant zichtbaar met roze randen.
Start with the heart, fold to the outside. The blue inner of the card with pink sides will become visible.

Blauwe harten naar boven en beneden vouwen. De kaart heeft nu de vorm van een kruis en de roze tekst is zichtbaar.
Fold the blue hearts up and downwards. The card will have the shape of a cross now and the text on pink is visible.

Het roze deel weer naar buiten vouwen en de achterkant wordt nu leesbaar. Die weer naar boven en beneden vouwen en voilá, je bent weer terug bij af!
Fold the pink part to the outside again and the back of the card will be readable now. Fold up and downwards again et voilá, your back at the start!

Ik hoor graag als het lukt. Als het niet lukt of als je fouten in de beschrijving tegen komt wil ik het ook graag weten ;o)) Dan kan ik de aanwijzingen aanpassen. Alvast bedankt.
