Je wil niet weten hoeveel plannen er al in m'n hoofd voorbij zijn gekomen om ze te gebruiken. 'k Ben vast niet de enige die zo'n stapel ongebruikte labels heeft liggen :)
You don't want to know how many times the tags are used, in my dreams. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one saving an unused pile of clothing tags :)

Afgelopen voorjaar kocht ik een paar grote vellen Tyvek met de bedoeling daar eens op te schilderen. Nu de verf vanwege het sjabloneren toch op tafel stond heb ik maar eens een vel doormidden gehakt en er wat op gekwast. 
Last spring I bought some large sheets Tyvek with the intention to paint on. Now with the paint within reach due to the recent stencilling I decided to cut a sheet in half to give it a try.

Deze is bij lange na nog niet klaar en op deze foto ziet 't er niet uit, de zon scheen plots binnen. Was welkom hoor, vergis je niet :)
Far from finished yet and on this pic it looks horible, the sun paid an unexpected visit. Mind you, a very welcome one :)

Al die lagen verf, super om te doen. Deze manier van lagen schilderen heb ik bij Julie Prichard en Chris Cozen geleerd (the land of lost luggage). Komende tijd eerst nog wat andere dingen afhandelen en ik kan weer aan de kwast gaan hangen. Hun online-lessen blijven altijd open, zo heerlijk voor iemand als ik die steeds hap-snap aan projecten werkt. Deze twee zeer getalenteerde en aardige dames geven je de gelegenheid zo vaak je wilt terug te komen om de videos te bekijken (en vragen te stellen) ♥ 
Merk je dat ik blij ben weer eens te schilderen?

I love all the layers, this way of layer painting is teached by Chris Cozen and Julie Prichard (the land of lost luggage). Coming weeks some ongoing projects to finish and than I can start painting again. Their online-classes stay open always, that's the best they can do for someone like me who's always stepping into too many projects at a time. These two very talented and nice ladies give you the opportunity to come back as often as you wish ♥

Onze gastbloggers op DIOL verdienden een wel aardigheidje, een steuntje in de rug voor de laatste week, een bedankje voor al de superleuke creatieve linken die ze voor ons vonden. Wat een inspiratie!

Ik dacht dat notitieboekjes wel van pas zouden komen. Voor ieder heb ik er twee gemaakt, toen alles ingepakt was, bleek ik geen foto's van de eigenlijke boekjes te hebben gemaakt, ach ja... 
Het zijn opgeleukte cahierbindingen à la Keith Smith, betrekkelijk eenvoudig om te maken. Ik naai ze graag, net even anders dan een gewone cahierbinding.
De omslagen zijn van handmarmers en omdat de verf die ik daarvoor gebruikte niet watervast is heb ik er nog een vel dik kalkpapier omheen gedaan. Geeft wel een mooi zacht effect.
Notebooks come in handy always, so that's what I made them. There are two for each and when all was packed up and ready to mail it dawned on me there weren't any photos of the actual books, ah well...
These are modified pamphlet stitched ones à la Keith Smith, fairly simple to make. I like sewing them, just a tiny bit different from your usual pamphlet stitched book.
The covers are made from hand marbled paper, the paint I used is not waterproof, so I added vellum (a thick tracing paper) as protection. The result is a nice and soft looking cover.

Een paar jaar terug aangeschaft, die megarol gestreept plakband. Al is 't flutspul ('t scheurt op de meest onmogelijke momenten op de meest onmogelijk plaats) toch mijn favoriet om pakjes en enveloppen dicht te plakken :)
Purchased a few years back, this mega roll striped packing tape. Despite the poor quality (it tends to tear at the most inconvenient part on the most inconvenient moment) it still is my favorite to tape packages and envelopes :)

Er zijn plannen een volgende keer iets gestructureerder te werk te gaan :)

Een paar weken terug zag ik eindelijk de laatste Harry Potter film en vanavond zag ik er weer een op tv. Ooit maakte ik een 'gothic arch' met een HP-thema en bedacht dat ik dat ouwetje wel even op kon diepen. 'k Vind 'm nog steeds leuk :)
A few weeks back I finally went to the latest (and last) Harry Potter movie and tonight I saw a HP-movie on tv. Years back I made a HP-themed 'gothic arch' and thought I could dig up that oldie. I had a giggle seeing it back :)

Er staat een bakje kleine prutswerkjes, testkaartjes, mislukte atc's en andere restjes voor m'n neus. Al jaren. En natuurlijk met het plan daar regelmatig iets uit te gebruiken. Al jaren.
Vandaag dan eindelijk gedaan. Of het regelmatig gaat worden? 'k Verwacht van niet :)
There is this little container on my desk holding backgrounds gone bad, miscut atc's and other bits and pieces. Since years. And of course there are these big ideas using this stash regularly. Since years.
Finally today I used one. Will this become a regular habit? I'm afraid not :)

De tekststempel (crafts&things) heb ik per regel afgeplakt en op het kaartje gestempeld, lijntje erom en het lijkt heel wat. Die lijntjes zie ik vaak bij Elke van 'crafts & things'. Maar zo mooi eenvoudig als zij kan werken, dat lukt me toch niet.
Sentences on the Dutch sentiment masked on the stamp while inking so I could stamp the sentences individually. A doodled line and the panel is fit for a card.

Dat relief kaartkarton schrijft wat moeilijk, dus ik plakte er een dubbelgevouwen velletje mooi schrijfpapier in om m'n boodschap te schrijven.
This 'embossed' cardstock is not easy to write on, so I attached a folded piece of nice writing paper as a lining in the card.

Nog even rustig aan vanwege de zomer (en dat wachten viel mee, toch?).
Voor de aflevering een 'maand - een boek' van juli/augustus besloten Anneke en ik mini-boeken te maken. Overijverig als ik soms ben maakte ik er twee, maar ze horen bij elkaar, dus eigenlijk toch maar één :)
Still going easy because of summer (and the waiting wasn't too bad, right?).
For the July/Augustus 'a month - a book' post Anneke and I decided to make mini-books. Being an overachiever at times I made two, it's a set of two the same, therefore they count as one :)

Alles erop en eraan, tot en met kapitaalbandjes toe. En als extra... haakjes :) Het zijn oorhangers geworden. Daar heb ik er al zo vaak van gezien en altijd gedacht 'dat wil ik ook eens maken'. Dit was een mooie gelegenheid om er echt aan te beginnen.
Complete books, endbands and all. And for an extra... hangers :)  I made earrings out of these two. After seeing so many lovely ones and wanting to give it a try for a long time this mini-book theme seemed the perfect opportunity to give it a go.

Haakjes vinden die ik mooi vond was nog niet zo eenvoudig. De meeste hobbywinkels hebben er waar je nog een extra buigringetje bij nodig hebt en dat wilde ik eigenlijk niet. Ik was al overstag toen ik de oorhangers hieronder in de opruiming zag. Mooie haakjes én twee leuke schijven voor een toekomstig project, ha!
To find hangers I liked wasn't that easy. Most craft-stores do carry the ones you need to add jump rings to and those weren't the ones I was looking for. I settled going with those until I saw the earrings on the photo below on sale. Lovely hooks and two fun discs to use in a future project, ha!
