I'm so happy I purchased broad grained (engl.?) A4 paper the other day, now I can make A5 books and A6 in oblong (landscape). I needed a notebook myself, so today I made a batch of six the same chain stitched 1-section books (these look a lot like the small exercise books we used in primary school decades ago). The stitching is a modified pamphlet stitch found in one of Keith Smit's books.
Ever since Cynnie told me so I call the books layered like this a booksalad :)
Green covers with off-white thread and the grey ones (appears more of a blue on these photos) with black thread. It's pre-waxed thread, I wiped of a part of the wax and like it better now.
Brown covers with brown thread, home colored and waxed. The thread isn't completely saturated by the dye, eventhough that I like it better than the pre-waxed. Lesson learned, colour and wax your own thread :)
