Ik brak er flink m'n hoofd over, over wat voor labels ik zou maken voor een paar speciale mensen. Gelukkig zag ik Stamping Mathilda's kerstbal deze week...
I was having a hard time thinking up a tag design for some very special people. Luckily I noticed Stamping Mathilda's Christmas ornament this week...

Een lettersjabloon gebruikt om de letters uit een stijfselmarmer te snijden. Daarna op een dubbele witte kaart geplakt en met een randje opnieuw uitgesneden.
Ze wiebelen nogal, behalve voor de 'H' is zelfstandig staan er niet bij :)
Used a letter template to cut the letters from paste paper. Attached those on white cards and cut again with a small border.
Except for the 'H' all are a bit too wobbly to stand by theirselfs :)

Stukje gekleurd slagerstouw en een clipje om het af te maken. Toch nog wat aardigs om aan de kadozakjes te hangen :)
A piece of baker's twine and some clips to finish off. Ready to go on the gift bags :)

Nu het zo vroeg donker is, wordt het weer moeilijker foto's te maken. Ik ben van plan me komende winter eens te gaan verdiepen in die ingewikkelde materie. Genoeg donkere uren om te oefenen op komst. Wat alvast helpt zijn de nieuwe gloeilampen met daglichtkleur, waarschijnlijk de laatste twee die de lampenwinkel nog had. Volgend jaar zal ik aan de energiezuinige moeten, zijn die er ook in een daglichtversie?
Now it's getting dark early it becomes harder to make photos. I'm planning to dive into the complex subject coming winter. There are enough dark hours coming to practise... What helps are the new for me daylight color lightbulbs, probably the last two the shop had left in stock. Next year I will have to move on to energy-saving ones, I'm hoping these are available in daylight color too.

zomerfotojacht summer photo scavenger hunt

Het was Patty die me er op wees, op deze zomerse fotojacht en dat was in september, dus ik ben eigenlijk pas na de zomer begonnen met foto's nemen. Ondanks dat ik lang niet alles bij elkaar heb verzameld, was het leuk om eens anders om me heen te kijken.
It was Patty who pointed it out, this summer photo scavenger hunt and it was september already. So in fact I started when summer was over making photos. Although I didn't complete the task I had fun looking around with a different perspective.

  1.  Open air market

Wij (en nogal wat soldaten) kochten nieuwe haring op de kleine markt van Havelte.
We (and lot of army men) bought herring at this small market in Havelte.

2.  Theater for performing arts (not a movie theater)
I've substituted this prompt by one of the extras that were on the list:

Veel historische stadhuizen in Nederland. Deze van Kampen wordt alleen nog gebruikt voor trouwerijen en officiele gelegenheden.
A lot of historic city halls in the Netherlands. This one in Kampen is only in use for weddings and ceremonial events. While prepping this post I learned it's on the Unesco heritage list.


4.  Airplane

Ik blijf mezelf maar zeggen dat het vliegtuig van me af vliegt, de foto is in een beetje gekke hoek genomen
I just have to keep telling my mind this plane is flying away from my view, one way or the other it tricks me to believe the plane is flying towards me, such a strange angle

De manieren waarop de zon ons welterusten wenst, kunnen fantastisch mooi zijn

Dat was het dan, excuus voor al de onderwerpen die ik miste en voor mijn late bijdrage (in feite is de deelname al gesloten). Maar al bij al hoop ik dat je de foto's toch leuk genoeg vond om even te bekijken :)
This was it, sorry I missed a lot of the assignments and that I'm late to the party (in fact the party is already over...). But for all that I hope you liked my overdue photos anyway :)

Iedereen heeft wel eens een 'oeps' moment
Everyone can have an 'oops' moment

De voorkant is een beetje ingekort en de hoeken afgerond zodat het strookje washitape eronder zichtbaar is (maar dat zie je niet als de kaart staat). De mooie structuur van het karton geeft nog wat extra's.
The shorter front and rounded corners make the washitape beneath visible (but you can't see that when the card stands up). The nice texture of the cardstock gives it some extra.

Marleen en de boekkunstbeurs

Weet je nog de fraaie boeken die Marleen Derweduwen maakt? Ook dit jaar heeft zij met haar groep medeboekbinders een tentoonstelling. Deze keer in de Bibliotheek Scharpoord te Knokke-Heist (B) van 1-30 oktober.

Mocht je niet in de gelegenheid zijn haar mooie werk in Knokke te gaan zien dan is er een tweede kans tijdens de Boekkunstbeurs op 2/3 november in de Pieterskerk in Leiden (NL). Tijdens de beurs zullen een paar leden van het collectief '14x14(21)' aanwezig zijn, je kunt ze dan het hemd van 't lijf vragen over hun boeken!

Bookbinding group '14x14(21)', of which Marleen Derweduwen is a member, exhibits in the Knokke-Heist (B) Library October 1-30 and on the Book Art Show in Leiden (NL) November 2-3
