weer een slingeranother garland

Helemaal in voor snelle klusjes, zo'n slinger is zo gemaakt van restjes en papier dat anders toch niet gebruikt wordt.
Completely into fast little projects, a garland like this is easily made from scraps and paper that will not be used otherways.

Tijdens de marmerlessen hebben we veel gelachen, als er weer een vel niet bijzonder gelukt was was dat er een voor de 'slingerbak', die bak vulde snel ☺
We laughed a lot in our marbling class, when a sheet didn't look nice enough it was directed into the 'garland stash', that stash was huge ☺

2,5 meter past mooi voor de tuindeur (die ene die we toch niet gebruiken)

Het naaimachien uit de kast pakken en weer opbergen was meer werk dan het naaien...
Getting the sewing machine out of the closet and putting it back in was more work than the sewing...

Marmervellen tegen elkaar geplakt in strookjes gesneden en aan de naaimachine gevoerd, da's al :)
Marbled papers pasted to each other, cut into strips and feeded through the sewing machine, that's all there is to it :)

slingergarland

Deze week komt er weer een nichtje thuis na een poos in Afrika te hebben gewerkt. Ook voor haar heb ik natuurlijk een 'welkom thuis' slinger gemaakt.
This week another one of my nieces is coming home from working in Africa. Of course I made her a 'welcome home' garland too.

Letters getekend met een mal en met acrylverf van een kleurtje voorzien. Verder met die acrylverf gestempeld en getamponeerd.

Letters are drawn with a template and painted with acrylic paint. The acrylyc paint is used for stamping and stencilling also.

Vanmiddag een ritje naar de kringloper gemaakt om spullen weg te brengen (nu nog 6 dozen uitzoekwerk te gaan). Als je daar dan zo'n schoenleest ziet staan, gaat die natuurlijk mee naar huis. Ik kan altijd wel een extra gewicht gebruiken voor het boeken maken...
This afternoon I made a trip to the thrift store to bring some goods (only 6 boxes to sort left). And when you spot a shoe last on the shelves it comes home with you, no doubt. One could always use an extra weight while making books...

Een ander nichtje van mij is ook in Afrika, zij loopt stage als verpleegkundige en komt deze week weer terug naar huis.
Another one of my nieces is in Africa too, she's coming home this week from a 3 month internship as a nurse.

Ik maakte een 'welkom thuis' slinger voor haar.

I made her a 'welcome home' garland.

Het koord heb ik gemaakt volgens een beschrijving via 'deze is ook leuk': klik. Ik heb bergen breigaren liggen die ik nooit zal gebruiken en dat komt zo mooi van pas :)

De letters heb ik met een mal getekend, uitgesneden en geverfd met acrylverf.

The letters are drawn with a template and cut out. Painted with acrylic paint.

Hartjes geponst van restjes papier.

Punched hearts from paper scraps.

De letters glimmen doordat ik er een laag polymeer acrylic medium overheen kwastte. Nu nog even onder wat zwaars om de vlaggetjes vlak te krijgen :) het formaat van de vlaggetjes is ong. 20x15 cm.

The letters are shiny due to the polymer acrylic medium i painted over them. Now I'm trying to flatten the flags by putting them under something heavy :) Measurement of the flags is 8x6"
