Dit jaar maak ik tijdens de adventsperiode 24 luciferdoosjes. Hele verhalen bedenk ik rond ieder doosje voor er een titel van een paar woorden uit rolt. Dat deed ik ook bij collagekaarten die ik jaren terug maakte. Doen meer mensen dat, verhalen verzinnen bij werkstukken? 

This year's advent period I'm altering 24 matchboxes. I make up complete stories for each box to find a short caption as title. I did this too years ago when making collage cards. Are more making up stories while working on a piece?

Dit jaar maak ik tijdens de adventsperiode 24 luciferdoosjes. Wonderlijke dingen gaan door m'n handen. Het 'Vermakelijkheden Belasting' ticket zat in een van de postzegelboeken. Tijden veranderen, entreegelden ook :) 

This year's advent period I'm altering 24 matchboxes. Strange items pass my hands. This 'Amusements Tax' ticket was found in a postage stamp album. Times are changing, entrance fees too :)

Dit jaar maak ik tijdens de adventsperiode 24 luciferdoosjes. Leerstalen zijn vaak te klein voor een 'echt' boek, maar voor miniwerkstukken als deze luciferdoosjes zijn ze ideaal.

This year's advent period I'm altering 24 matchboxes. Leather swatches are often too small for 'real' books, though very useful for tiny items like these matchboxes

Dit jaar maak ik tijdens de adventsperiode 24 luciferdoosjes. Soms valt alles heel snel op z'n plek, deze had een paar dagen nodig. Blijkbaar is het gewoon niet af zolang ik me er niet 'goed' bij voel (en nu zit dit nummer steeds in m'n hoofd).

This year's advent period I'm altering 24 matchboxes. Sometimes things fall together quickly, this one took a few days. It's just not yet finished as long as it doesn't feel 'right' (and now this song is playing continuously in my head).

Dit jaar maak ik tijdens de adventsperiode 24 luciferdoosjes. De doosjes zijn ong. 5x3 cm, een mooie maat voor mini-boekjes.

Dit jaar maak ik tijdens de adventsperiode 24 luciferdoosjes. Harmonica's (leporello's) zijn een leuk element in dit soort doosjes, haast speelgoed.

This year's advent period I'm altering 24 matchboxes. Concertina's (leporello's) are a fun element in these kind of boxes, almost like a toy.

Dit jaar maak ik tijdens de adventsperiode 24 luciferdoosjes. Ik merk ineens dat alle doosjes tot nu in een horizontale richting zijn gemaakt. Dat was niet echt een bewuste keuze.

This year's advent period I'm altering 24 matchboxes. Suddenly I've noticed that all boxes until now are made in a landscape orientation. It's not a really conscious choice.
